Home Automation, Co Down

This project involved controlling every light in the house and garden plus heating control via KNX, Sonos multi-room digital music, 4K HD multi-room video, IP video gate intercom, CCTV and a commercial grade home network.

To enable simple control while at home or away, the ELAN home automation system controls everything from elegant hand-help remote controls, in-wall touch screens and mobile apps.

Home Cinema Room, Ballinderry

This project is a dedicated home cinema room complete with HD projector, large screen, cinema seats and acoustic wall treatments above the client’s garage.
The brief was simple – keep it simple.

Sources include Sky HD, Blu-Ray, DVD, Freeview and Playstation and control is via the URC Total Control system. A simple URC remote control and mobile app replaces the plethora of remotes and apps which are now standard issue. So with just one button press the screen comes down, the projector turns on, the AV amp is turned on and the correct source selected and the required source is setup and ready  to go. Because everything is networked, you can control the cinema from anywhere in the house.

Cinema seats ensure you are sitting in the lap of luxury and acoustic wall treatments mean that  the sound is really impressive without spending exorbitant amounts on equipment.Cinemascape provided the seats and acoustic treatments.

Elsewhere in the house there is Sonos multi-room music, HD distribution controlled via the URC Total Control and a commercial grade Wi-Fi network.

Home Automation, Armagh

This project includes a complete house wide KNX lighting automation system using the elegant Gira Esprit glass frames. Heating is controlled by Gira room thermostats which are mounted in a double gang Esprit mint glass frame for a completely integrated look.

Multi-room must and HD video is provided by the Russound MCA system and is controlled using the My Russound mobile app.

Home automation features include arriving home in the dark and opening the automatic gates triggers a lighting pathway right into your kitchen to welcome you home. All lights in the house can be switched off by one button and at night-time low level LEDs automatically add background light.

Lighting Control, South Belfast

This project is a Des Ewing designed home in South Belfast. The brief from the client was that the technology could not be obvious. Low energy, dimmable LED lighting provided interesting and attractive lighting effects in the open plan kitchen, dining and family room. A lighting control solution was specified in order to maximise the control and ease of use.

The KNX building automation system was chosen due it it’s features and reliability. Lights switches could not appear “smart” so to achieve this, KNX input modules were fitted behind the client’s choice of switches to produce a uniform appearance and keep the technology as discrete as possible.

Lighting scenes are created on the iKNiX app on a smart phone or tablet and then recalled from any of the switches to perfectly match the mode.

Elsewhere in the house we have Sonos multi-room music.
